Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of returns accurately and within the required standards
  • Preparing accurate tax computations
  • Ensure that clients are invoiced on completion of work
  • SARS E-filing administration
  • VAT registrations
  • PAYE registrations
  • Income tax registrations – companies, trusts and individuals
  • Application for tax clearance certificates
  • Application for tax directives
  • Preparation and submission of IT14SD’s
  • Liaise with SARS and assist clients with queries via e-filing and the SARS call centre
  • Attending stakeholders meeting at SARS
  • Calculating tax computations alongside various schedules including interest & dividends, rental income & expenditure, capital gain, vehicle allowance and medical aid
  • Preparation and submission of returns via e-filing for all types of entities and individuals
  • Provisional tax calculations for first, second and third period
  • Provide clients with tax listings of information required to calculate and submit their return
  • Submission of supporting documents to SARS
  • Objecting to SARS assessments via a Notice of Objection and thereafter Notice of Appeals
  • Notifying clients of payments due or refunds receivable
  • Authorising credit push payments via e-filing on behalf of the client
  • Calculating statement of assets and liabilities
  • Calculating cost of living reconciliation
  • IT144 donation forms to SARS
  • Completing and submitting EI1 & EI2 forms to SARS Tax Exemption Unit for Non Profit Organisations and for Public Benefit Organisations status and liaise with SARS TEU
  • Submission of foreign Withholding Tax on Entertainers (NR01) form



Qualification and Experience

  • Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Tax compliance in an auditing firm
  • Own transport / Driver’s license would be an advantage
  • Registered Tax Practitioner with SARS will be an advantage
  • Experience on Greatsoft would be an advantage


  • Ability to critically analyse AFS and interpret it to identify business and tax risks 
  • Taking ownership of work and ability to function well in a high pressure environment
  • Attention to detail and presenting work in an orderly and logical manner
  • Team player and good with people skills and ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
